5 Books That You Need To Add To Your Collection

I love reading (and that’s an understatement). I used to lock myself in my bedroom and wander away into different worlds and stories. A little dazed, I would look up and not know what time it was, what day, or the last time I had eaten. Nowadays I don’t read to that obsession (mostly because a girl has got to eat!) but I still love settling into a really good book.

If you love reading or want a little light book to pick up for lulls in your day then here are my top 5 must reads for this year! While these might not have been released in 2018 they are definitely new to me and oh so good.

The Chemist
I was a Stephenie Meyer’s junkie when Twilight came out! While I might not have liked the movies that much (please, no hate) I was enthralled with her books. I’m a firm believer in a book being better than the movie but I also know when I am craving to see something on the big screen. This is one of those books!

Written by the Twilight guru, this book has a romantic edge like her other books but has a ‘Bourne Ultimatum’ vibe to it. The Chemist follows a girl who used to work for the government until they tried killing her. On the run and hidden, she is offered a way out of this hell hole she finds herself in. It’s not only gripping but keeps you glued to the pages until the last drop.

#Girlboss
Female empowerment at its finest! Sophia Amoruso, the founder of Nasty Gal, has done it again with founding Girlboss. This book won’t give you a quick answer on how to become successful or get rich but it WILL take you along on her journey and teach you how to learn from your mistakes and work hard for what you want!

This is definitely a book that will help get you motivated, off the couch, and working towards your #dreamgoals.

How To Be Parisian Wherever You Are
If you are obsessed with Parisians then this book is for you. How do they look so beautiful without makeup? Why do they look so effortless? How can I be this way? This book has the answers. I’ve read this book over a few times for light reading and cannot get enough. Written by Anne Berest, Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret, and Sophie Mas (a group of sexy Parisians) they give you all the tips and tricks to be a la chic.

1st To Die
This is the first book in the Women’s Murder Club series by James Patterson. I know I know; I’m a bit late to the game on this one! With feminist badass characters you really cannot go wrong with this phenomenal series. Written by a man who has more books published then I have clothes, the story is witty, daring, and intoxicating! It follows your main detective on the case as well as a few other key players (like the murderer) making it easy to get the point of view from every angle.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry (especially at the end), and you’ll definitely want to go out and solve murders!

Cupcakes And Cashmere
First as a website; now a book. This book is not only coffee table décor but a great insight into the lifestyle of Emily Schuman. She creates her adorable website and transforms it into each season for easy skimming. This book has everything; outfits, home décor, DIY, recipes, and more! If anything it is a great idea giver (like Pinterest) to get you motivated for the season to come!

Let me know below what your favorite books are for the 2018 year! I love adding new ones to my collection and getting sucked in to new and interesting stories!
