Do You Know How To Properly Get Rid Of A Pimple?

We have all had that demonic little dot that likes to randomly pop up wherever it wants to. I’m not going to sit here and pretend I have not spent a few nervous moments popping that little dot that we know so well as a pimple. It happens; we see a blemish, and we try to erase it before we even have a chance to blink. Nowadays most of us know that, while it grossly is kind of fun to pop a pimple, it is not the right way to go about it. Yet, do you actually know how you are supposed to get rid of one?

Besides buying actual serums and creams that do this little deed, there are also steps you can take with things that are just lying around your house. Why should I stop popping? Great question! Popping a pimple can lead to scarring and, while you might think you got rid of all the puss, there could still be bacteria that you miss resulting in prolonged agony. Before you take a hacksaw to your face try these little tricks to get rid of that nemesis the right way.

Get out the ice cubes
If you have a pimple that just started the process of interrupting your face but has yet to age (aka, become poppable), then ice can be your best friend. Ice helps by reducing any swelling and aide in pushing any oil or bacteria that is growing in the area. Just wrap an ice cube in a cloth or napkin and press to the irritated area. I would suggest doing this a few times and repeating this process 1-2 times a day until healed.

Dab on the honey
This yummy little treat has been known to cure a pimple before it becomes too large to control. Honey acts as a natural antiseptic, destroying any bacteria and speeding up the healing time of the little blemish. For this to work, take a small cotton tip with honey and apply to any blemished areas. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes before washing off.

Extra little tip; you can make a mask with honey, cinnamon, and lemon to leave on the area overnight for an extra boost of healing power. Lemon and cinnamon have been known to work as antiseptics on the face as well but can be a little overpowering for those of you with sensitive skin.

Steam it away
Steaming your face has been known to be beneficial, not just for pimples, but for the overall health of your skin. Like a sauna, nice steam to your face can help open up pores to allow all the bad bacterias to flush out of your system. Not to mention it feels like an at-home spa treatment!

Boil a few cups of water making sure it is at the boiling point before taking off the heat. Then you can transfer the water into a little bowl and, sitting it on a table, stick your head over the pot with a towel covering your head. This allows the steam to fully work its magic. Just remember to take a couple breathers (it can get a little hot after a minute or two).

Create an Aspirin Paste
We all know about Aspirin and for a good reason. This little pill contains salicylic acid which can be found in a lot of acne treatments. This will immediately remove any oil buildup and dead skin while unclogging your pore and drying out that pesky little pimple. Add a little water to a crushed up Aspirin and apply to any and all places that are starting to bloom that ugly little red dot. Keep it on for a while and merely wash away afterward.

As long as you don’t squeeze or dry out your skin that angry pore will eventually subdue. None of us like blemishes and most all of us are usually too impatient to just wait for it to go away on its own. Not only will this help eliminate the problem they will also keep your skin from scarring or becoming even more irritated (again, STOP popping...we are not Dr. Pimple Popper).
