7 Series You Should Be Watching Right Now

I know, you've seen these before on the internet (twice on my website actually). Personally, I'm a huge fan of these types of articles for the fact that I love trying out new shows. Just like reading, shows and movies can take you to different worlds and entertain you for a little while. Or, if you are like me, you waste an entire 14 hours on one show because you just can't stop yourself. Don't worry, I'll check myself into rehab right after I write this.

Whether you are looking for a new series to start or just want to keep your options open, I have a few great finds for you. Not all of these are new, but they are definitely worth watching. While I love TV shows, I also am very particular with what I like. If a show doesn't entice me within the first episode I usually never click back onto it. The series I have below will suck you in within the first five minutes, and you'll have a hard time not watching the entire season in one day.

If you have not even tried this show, then you are seriously missing out. I've been a fan since the release date and have gotten several people hooked along with me (including my entire family). To put it simply, you follow Sam and Dean (brothers) who hunt things and save the world. “The family business.” The show has 13 seasons currently on Netflix, with the 14th season being released as we speak. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but these boys save the world multiple times while meeting some pretty big villains. Think biblical. PS: If you are not up to date on the seasons, do not watch this trailer (it has a few spoilers).

Stranger Things
While this only has two seasons, it is worthy of being on this list. I can already tell you that whatever they continue to do with this series will be phenomenal. By now, you have at least heard of this show. If you are on the fence about it, well, make up your mind! The show follows a group of misfit kids (think Goonies) while they go through the ups and downs of growing up. You know, if growing up meant meeting a girl with psychic powers, weird government projects, weird aliens, and alternative realities. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll bite your nails till there is nothing left.

Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee
Seems like a weird title, but it fits the show entirely. Basically, you follow Jerry Seinfeld around as he drives unique cars, all the while taking famous comedians and people to get coffee. These shows are 15-30 minutes of just pure conversation between two witty people. It's the show we never realized we actually needed in our lives. A few of the people you see on the show include Alec Baldwin, Kevin Hart, Obama, and so many more.

Talk about a show worth binging. The first time I watched this show turned into a two day binge that I was not prepared for. This show follows Fiona and her family as they go through some harsh struggles of life. Harsh as in Fiona raising her siblings while living in poverty, a mother abandoning them, and an alcoholic father who does not make their life easy, ever. It seems like it would be bleak, but they keep their heads up with a lot of humor (and alcohol). Before you know it, you'll be laughing and crying like you are one of the fam. Again, if you do watch this video be aware that is might show a few spoilers!

Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan
Again, this isn't necessarily a series yet but is definitely a gem to find. This is the first one on the list that is only on Amazon Prime but is definitely worth the watch. Jack Ryan stars John Krasinski (remember Jim from The Office) who works for the government to keep terrorists at bay. Things start to get messy when they come upon a possible terrorist that is extremely dangerous and powerful. If you love action movies and shows, this is definitely one for you.

American Horror Story
This will always be on my top 5 list of fantastic series. The creativity and creepiness that goes into each season still astonish me. Do you love thriller and horror movies? American Horror Story is your show. Each season is a different plotline (but with repeat actors) and is bound to have you hiding under your blankets through each episode. The storyline is fantastic, the directing is out of this world, and the creepiness is next level.

True Blood
I don't care what anyone ever says, this is a show worth watching. This is one of the only shows that I actually went out and bought the entire DVD set. Which, I'll let you know is not a cheap purchase. You get vampires, werewolves, fairies, gods, and lots of sex with True Blood (I mean, it is HBO after all). Follow Sookie as she tries to live as normal life as she can in her grandmother's house located in a small town in Louisianna. Of course, it is hard to be genuinely normal when you can read minds and fall in love with a vampire.

Let me know in the comments below some of your all-time favorite TV shows out there! Obviously, this is far from the list of shows I could put. These are just some that I always go back to when I can't find anything new and amazing to watch.
